When developing a web site or an application itself, many different technologies are used according to what is being persued. For the basic building of every site, we make use of XHTML programming language. This allows us to organize the site content in a very simple and neat way. E.i we are able to design what function is going to be performed by each element of the site: header, paragraphs, typography, pictures, just to name a few.

When dealing with the visual aspect, CSS language allows us to set up how each element is going to be seen: place, colour, typography, etc. Moreover, by using CSS we are able to devide the content of the presentation; so that, it is posible to alter the site designing without changing the content of it.

On top of that, we are allowed to add a touch of sophistication to any site by using JavaScript, as well as helping the user when surfing it. It is really important to have in mind that JavaScript is just an extra resource,  without which the site should function perfectly all the same, and should allow us to access every section of the site.

Moreover, Flash is a very useful tool to add interactive animations, sounds, videos to our site. Just as JavaScrip, It is an extra resource, and in this case, something really important to bear in mind is that the site should work effectively, eventhough the user does not have Flash in his/her system.

As far as server languages are concerned, such as PHP give us the chance to carry out more complex works needed for the development of web applications. Thanks to that we can interact with MySQL Data Base for instance, and send emails automatically.
